Eglin walks a mile ‘in their shoes’
Sexual Assault Awareness Month kicked off with the first “Walk a Mile In Their Shoes” event April 1 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. Brig. Gen David Harris, 96th Test Wing commander, led approximately 100 military and civilian community members to the 96th TW headquarters building, from the Breeze dining facility. The walkers also dropped off more than 100 pairs of shoes at the headquarters’ lobby to symbolize walking in a sexual assault victim’s path to healing and to help raise awareness about the seriousness of sexual violence.
