Eglin pays tribute to fallen combat heroes

Retired Army Command Sgt. Maj. Ted Arthurs addresses the audience at the Roll Call Memorial Service at the Air Force Armament Museum near Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., May 22. The 86-year-old Korea and Vietnam War veteran shared stories of his time in combat and of the heroes living among us in the local community. The ceremony paid respect to 550 fallen Florida service members who died in the service of their country during conflicts ranging from World War II to the present. The event included the posting of the colors by Eglin’s Honor Guard, the reading of a congressional letter of appreciation and the recital of each name of the fallen.
