413th FLTS executes aircraft development tests, evaluations
An A-10C Thunderbolt II flies above an AC-130J Ghostrider, after performing an “aerial pick-up” at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., March 27. The A-10 acted as a safety chase for an AC-130 that performed dynamic maneuvers to assess the aircraft’s flight qualities. These aircraft are used for developmental tests that provide flight data. The 413th Flight Test Squadron plans, executes and reports development tests and evaluations of the Air Force’s Special Operations Command’s aircraft as well as the Air Force’s vertical lift aircraft.
