96th Weather Flight
Tech. Sgt. Nathan Halvorson, 96th Weather Flight, secures a SONDE box to the end of an orange parachute on a weather balloon prior to a launch from Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. The box collects data such as the GPS coordinates, wind speed, direction, height, ascension rate, pressure, temperature and humidity. This information is collected by the 96th Weather Flight and provided to test engineers. The engineers used the data in aircraft test evaluations. (U.S. Air Force photo/Samuel King Jr.)
