40th FLTS flyover of USS Independence

Maj. Jonathan Gilbert, an F-16 test pilot for the 40th Flight Test Squadron at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., flies an AIM-9X test mission July 17 over the Gulf of Mexico. AIM-9X Sidewinder is an air-to-air missile being tested for weapons development. Upon completion of the test, Gilbert flew a fly-by with the Navy's USS Independence.
