Fire Prevention Week

National Fire Prevention Week theme is “Hear the BEEP where you SLEEP” Oct. 4-10. According to the National Fire Protection Association half of home fires occur when people are sleeping. The NFPA also recommends that every bedroom have a working smoke alarm. Eglin Fire Department personnel handed out bags with fire safety information to base children during Eglin’s Fire Prevention Week educational activities. (U.S. Air Force photo/Ilka Cole)
