Tortoises to relocate to Eglin
Jackie, the gopher tortoise, snacks on green apples outside of her burrow at the Eglin Natural Resources branch in Niceville, Fla. Eglin’s natural resources personnel prepared habitat to accept at least 500 gopher tortoises from Citrus and Pasco Counties in south Florida. The 25-year-old Jackie has been on display educating the public for almost 15 years.
