Local Future Soldiers receive enlistment oath from orbiting astr
Col. Andrew Morgan, an astronaut and Soldier aboard the International Space Station, administers the enlistment oath via video link to Future Soldiers Feb. 26 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. Approximately 30 local Future Soldiers recited the oath with Morgan, who was 250 miles above the Earth and traveling 17,000 mph. The unique opportunity was part of a large-scale enlistment by Army Recruiting Command and NASA. More than 1,000 Army recruits at approximately 150 locations followed Morgan’s words taking the oath in unison. (U.S. Air Force photo/Samuel King Jr.)
