Eglin officers nominated for stars

Team Eglin wishes to congratulate the following officers on their recent presidential nominations for general rank appointments.

Brig. Gen. Shaun Morris, the Air Force Program Executive Officer for Weapons and Armament Directorate director, was nominated to the grade of major general.

“Jean and I are honored and humbled,” said Morris, speaking about his and his spouse’s reaction to the news.  “Mostly, we feel extremely blessed at the opportunity to continue to serve in the world's greatest Air Force with the world's greatest Airmen.”

Col. Lance Pilch, the 33rd Fighter Wing commander, was nominated to the grade of brigadier general.

"I am humbled by this announcement and grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve and lead in this Air Force as a general officer," Pilch said.  "A special thank you to my wife, Junko, and my daughters without whose support I would not be where I am."

The base commmander applauded the the officers efforts and wished them continued success.

"I'm thrilled the Air Force is recognizing BG Morris and Col Pilch for their exceptional talent and contributions to air power by granting them even greater leadership opportunities," said Brig. Gen. Christopher Azzano.

The nominations now go to the U.S. Senate for approval and appointment.
