From the commander: introduction

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. - It is a great honor to return here 15 years after our first assignment here.  Nora, the kids, and I have fond memories from working with you and we look forward to serving you and working on our numerous missions together in the coming years.

Our first priority is you: every one of you and your families who serve our national defense.  Thank you for all you do each and every day.

As a team, our first priority is the mission.  I envision great continuity as the 96 TW continues to perform a crucial mission forging the air, space, and cyber capabilities required to dominate our near-peer competitors. As the host wing for Eglin, the 96th Test Wing will continue to provide installation support to ensure the success of our diverse mission partners.

Looking to the future, our wing strategic plan focuses on shaping Team Eglin in pursuit of these primary missions.  We will succeed by staying informed, connected and empowered to execute our duty.

I believe brevity is the soul of command, so I’ll leave my introduction at that.  Meanwhile, enjoy a safe and celebratory long weekend in honor of our great nation’s 246th anniversary of independence.

Thank your families for their service, and call to mind the sacrifices so many others have made before us, including those serving actively at home or abroad over the holiday weekend.
