Rock Solid Warrior: Tech. Sgt. Micah Larsh

SOUTHWEST ASIA --

This week's Rock Solid Warrior is Tech. Sgt. Micah Larsh, a 386th Expeditionary Medical Group biomedical repair technician deployed from Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.   Larsh is an Airman with the 96th Medical Support Squadron.  The Rock Solid Warrior program is a way to recognize and spotlight the Airmen of the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing for their positive impact and commitment to the mission.

WHY DID YOU JOIN?

I joined the Air Force to serve my country, attain job skills and provide for my family.

DEPLOYED UNIT VS HOME STATION?

Here I am the only BMET so I am solely responsible for the maintenance of the medical equipment. At Eglin AFB I have limited facility management responsibilities and I don't have the opportunity to work on medical equipment as frequently as I do here.

GOALS?

I want to continue to study and pursue promotion in the Air Force and look at opportunities to step outside my career field, possibly as an attaché. I also want to complete my bachelor's in accounting in the next few years. I am currently training for the AF half-marathon in September and I would one day like to complete a triathlon.

FAVORITE PART OF MISSION?

My favorite part of the mission here is the interactions I have with every section in the 386 EMDG. I definitely feel more interconnected with everyone and I see more clearly how my role impacts the overall mission of the 386 EMDG.

HOBBIES?

I enjoy spending time with my family, watching movies, watching sports (soccer, football), running, riding my bicycles, and traveling.

CHALLENGES?

Some of the challenges I have encountered are having to manage several different important roles, some of which I have limited experience with. I have been able to overcome my challenges by relying on people from my home station and those who I have worked with in the past. I know they have advice or experiences that can help me deal with my challenges.
