EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The First Sergeant Council's Operation Care Program held its first Mobile Food Pantry Drive here Nov. 3.

Base community members lined up at the West Gate Chapel to accept more than 5,000 pounds of food donated from on and off-base resources.  More than 100 volunteers loaded vehicles with enough food to feed families, up to six members each.

Master Sgt. Ashley Hall, 96th Maintenance Squadron, said the drive provided free meals to personnel facing food insecurity challenges.

“We want to help our Eglin personnel challenged by inflation and other factors that make it difficult to feed their families,” she said.  “I think this was a huge hit.  A lot of families were thankful we were able to support them.”
