Flight, boat operations in Gulf of Mexico next week

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The 53rd Weapons Evaluation Group will conduct boat operations in the Gulf of Mexico April 9-11.

Each day, fighter aircraft will release munitions between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. approximately 11.5 nautical miles south of Destin over the Gulf of Mexico.

The test will be conducted within a cleared range safety area, which includes boat surveillance in the gulf.  Notices to mariners will be issued prior to missions.

In addition, flyers will be handed out at the local marina. Boaters are encouraged to contact local marinas for information on notices to mariners.
