Scheduled power outage to affect base residents

On-base residents will experience a power outage Sept. 30 and again on Oct. 14 while the 796th Civil Engineer Squadron performs maintenance to the base electrical system.

According to C. T. Stinson, distribution and substation foreman, the power outage will begin at 7a.m and last until 11:30 a.m.

"The outage is needed to change out four power poles outside the West Gate substation," Mr. Stinson said.

The main areas affected will be the base exchange/commissary complex and the West Gate Shoppette. Also affected will be the control tower, both family camps, Camp
Robbins, both elementary schools, the childcare center, the youth center and the
West Gate Shoppette.

The main housing areas affected are Bens Lake, Capehart and Wherry.
