BX celebrates back to school "tax-free holiday" every day

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- While stores across Okaloosa county will be jammed for a handful of days in the coming months for "tax-free" holidays on select items, Eglin's BX continues to offer tax-free shopping every day on everything in the store.

With merchandise ranging from shoes, school supplies, clothing and backpacks to sporting goods, lunch boxes and electronics, the exchange offers year-round one-stop, tax-free shopping for every student's needs.

"Why wait for a 'holiday?' The Army & Air Force Exchange Service has done its homework when it comes to providing name brand merchandise at tremendous values," said the BX's General Manager Myra Moore. "Whether looking for that perfect outfit for the first day or pencils and protractors, one stop at the BX is generally all military Families here need to complete their back-to-school shopping."

With the average family expected to spend more than $500 on educational, electronic and apparel products in 2007, AAFES is rolling out its annual back to school blitz to help authorized exchange shoppers save money and time.

Now through Aug. 24, the Eglin BX is hosting a wide variety of back to school specials.

"We're taking the hassle out of back to school shopping," said Ms. Moore. "With store-wide savings on virtually every merchandise category and tax-free shopping 365 days a year, military families always save big when shopping their exchange."
