Eglin to remain closed through Jan 22

The 96th Test Wing is scheduled to conduct an active assailant exercise Jan. 7 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The annual training exercise will take place at Eglin Elementary School and is intended to test emergency response plans.
  EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – Base operations and services will remain closed through Wednesday Jan. 22 as forecasted winter weather moves into the area.

The Eglin Installation Commander extended his order for essential mission activities on Eglin AFB. Operations and services except for base emergency services will be closed.  Maximum telework remains highly encouraged.  

A decision on the installation’s posture for Jan. 23 will be made Wednesday afternoon based on the projected condition of roads in and around the area.

Eglin personnel should stay in close contact with their supervisors for specific unit information and keep a close eye on local forecast for weather updates.

The 96th Medical Group will be limited to emergencies, limited in-patient surgery, mother/baby care, and virtual appointments.  Patients with questions about their appointments should call the 96th MDG appointment line.
