Corvias Military Living to host lease signing events Published Aug. 7, 2013 By Brandon Masters Corvias Military Living EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Corvias Military Living is set to assume responsibility of Eglin's family housing operations Sept. 1. As part of the transition process, all service members living in family housing are required to complete and sign the military-friendly lease referred to as the Resident Occupancy Agreement. Corvias will hold lease signing events on Aug. 21-23 at the Bayview Club to assist service members with completing their ROAs. "We understand this will be a new experience for families," said Mark Capovani, the program manager for Corvias Military Living here. "The signing events are designed to make the transition process as simple as possible for residents. It's also a great opportunity for our Corvias team members to meet with the residents one-on-one and answer any questions they may have." The schedule for the ROA signing is based on last name. The detailed schedule is below. A - H, Aug. 21 from 8:30 to 6 p.m. I - Q, Aug. 22 from 8:30 to 6 p.m. R - Z, Aug. 23 from 8:30 to 6 p.m. In order to complete the lease signing process, residents must provide their military ID. If the resident is a pet owner, they will also need to bring necessary pet documentation. In addition to those documents, spouses of deployed service members will also need to bring a Special Power of Attorney in order to sign on behalf of the service member. The Special Power of Attorney document must specifically authorize the signing of the ROA and initiating the allotment that pays the rent. Residents can request a Special Power of Attorney through the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate. For more information or hours of operation, call (850) 882-4611 or visit the website. The ROA is similar to a housing lease off base. The ROA is valid for 12 months and renews month-to-month unless PCS, ETS or retirement orders require earlier termination. At the lease signing events, service members will also receive a Resident Responsibility Guide that outlines policies, responsibilities and expectations when living on base. Each resident will sign an acknowledgement stating they have read and understand the RRG. The ROA and RRG information will be available online soon here. Residents will be able to view all documents that will be discussed during the lease signing events from the comfort of their homes. A designated area will be available during the events for residents who would like to sign and submit their lease quickly. "We are excited about the opportunity to bring our nationally-recognized customer service and new neighborhood amenities to Air Force service members and families," said Capovani. "Service members deserve quality housing. We are here to take care of the homes so they can focus on their missions and spending quality time with their families." The Air Force selected Corvias Military Living to privatize housing after a competitive solicitation process led by the Air Force Civil Engineer Center. The company will be responsible for the construction, renovation, maintenance and management of Eglin's military family housing for 50 years.
