Expert teaches base kids 'art of the paper airplane'
Chief Master Sgt. James Shelley, 33rd Maintenance Group, and his nine-year-old son, Jackson, fold a paper airplane together during a base reading program class July 26 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. The class was taught by Ken Blackburn, Air Force Research Lab Munitions Directorate, who held the Guinness World Record for longest in-air paper airplane flight. More than 30 kids and parents folded their planes based on Blackburn’s instructions, then filled the base’s digital library with tiny flying paper aircraft. (U.S. Air Force photo/Samuel King Jr.)
