Air Force Seek Eagle Mass Properties
David Senter, an ordnance equipment specialist with the Air Force’s Seek Eagle Mass Properties Shop, measures the offset of the item to a known point on the Joint Air-To-Surface Standoff Missile, at the Mass Properties Measurement Facility on Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., March 24. Mass property equipment specialists determine the center of gravity to the hard points on any given item. This information is used by Air Force Seek Eagle engineers and customers to determine flight capabilities, weapon predictions, and as a production quality check. AFSEO’s equipment specialists provide mass property measurements of up to 8,000 pounds through the use of mobile measurement machines in support of worldwide deployments.
