Boat patrol protects Eglin's coastline

Eglin’s Defenders

A team of 96th Security Forces Squadron Airmen perform a side-advancing movement during a shoot, move and communicate drill in June at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. The mandatory training requirement is in addition to annual weapons qualification training. The exercise consists of Airmen firing simmunition ammo while advancing toward, away from and to the side of a target. This is followed by a building sweep and clear drill. Ophthalmic surgical technicians Senior Airman James Bohannon, 96th Aerospace Medicine Squadron, and civilian contractor Wilfredo Cisneros prepare the new lens for implantation as the doctor performs cataract extraction surgery at Eglin Air Force Base hospital. During the procedure, the surgeon removes the eye’s cloudy lens known as a cataract and replaces it with a new clear lens implant. The surgery takes approximately 20 minutes.
