This rendering displays the layout and grounds of Eglin Hospital upon completion of current military construction projects scheduled to be completed by the end of summer. The 96th Medical Group complex will include a new and updated emergency department, a state-of-the-art hybrid operating room, updated specialty clinics and more. Trees and brush are being removed to make way for a new multi-purpose field and eventually tennis and basketball courts behind the East Gate shopette at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. This is one of many renovations to the athletic areas surrounding the track and field house. All of the ball fields will be upgraded with new dugouts and fencing. One of them will be converted to a multi-purpose field. The concrete PT pads will be coated in rubber urethane. Also, a covered pavilion area will be constructed between Foster Stadium and the soccer field. An excavator picks up a flattened piece of a 50,000 gallon underground fuel storage tank as a C-130 flies overhead near the 33rd Fighter Wing March 11 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. The tank was one of four removed from the area. The systems have been in place since 1959 and formerly used to refuel 33rd FW aircraft until recently.
