Col. Washington J. Sanchez Jr., the commander of the Florida department of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, was the guest speaker at this year’s POW/MIA ceremony Sept. 16 at the Air Force Armament Museum. The ceremony paid tribute to those military members who have yet to return home from defending America. Medallions are prepared to be presented to Airmen nominated in each category of the 96th Test Wing’s Annual Awards program during a Feb. 3 ceremony on Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. The Medallion Ceremony was a precursor to the Annual Awards Ceremony held later that evening, where one winner was chosen in each award category.
