Ranger Camp Shoppette opens

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The 6th Ranger Battalion welcomed a new AAFES Shoppette at the Ranger Camp Nov. 3. On October 4, 2005, the Gator Lounge and AAFES Shoppette caught fire and burned to the ground. In the years following the fire, the Rangers and families stationed at Camp Rudder originally made do with a Tactical Field Exchange Unit, a mobile tractor-trailer assembly usually used downrange, before moving to a temporary building in October 2007. The rebuilt facility contains the Gator Lounge, a concession barber shop and the AAFES Shoppette. (AAFES photo/Daniel Eddington)
