Operation Hero: mock deployment for 'mil kids'
A young wingman helps a fellow deployer with physical training during Operation Hero Sept. 30 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. More than 470 kids participated in the event set up to show the process their parents go through before they leave home. They participated in three phases. The first included a deployment line for dog tag issue and 'immunizations.' After a brief from the commander they moved on to Phase Two activities set up by base organizations. The last phase included a welcome home lunch. (U.S. Air Force photo/Ilka Cole)
