Pin Pointing Pain

Capt. Kyle Olsen, 96th Medical Group, places ear acupuncture needles into a patient’s outer ear during an acupuncture training clinic Feb. 14 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. Olsen and other family medicine residents learn the acupuncture techniques and body points through a 200-hour course. Eventually, they can incorporate acupuncture care in their clinical practice at their first assignment. Acupuncture is used to treat acute and chronic pain, stress, insomnia, and post-traumatic stress in service members. (U.S. Air Force photo/Ilka Cole)
