Incident on Eglin Published Jan. 6, 2010 By 010610 EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Normal operations at base gates have resumed after outbound traffic was delayed for an isolated incident this morning. Persons of interest have been identified and are currently being interviewed as a part of an ongoing incident investigation here. "After a report of an assault on base, our Eglin security forces responded swiftly and appropriately," said Col. Bruce McClintock, 96th Air Base Wing commander. "We kept the gates closed as the investigation unfolded in order to maximize safety and security. We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation."
