Hurricane Condition Two has been declared at Eglin by the 96th Test Wing commander as of 8 a.m., May 7, because of the threat of Hurricane Cobia.

Hurricane Condition Two means destructive winds of 58 MPH or greater are possible within 24 hours and a hurricane is expected to make landfall at or near Eglin.

The commander has authorized the group dismissal and administrative leave of non-mission critical personnel. Mission critical personnel will remain on duty status for possible 24-hour emergency operations. Personnel releases at the discretion of unit commanders are authorized administrative leave.

People living in Postl' Point Famcamp, Temporary Lodging Facilities, Camp Pinchot, Maxwell-Gunter Recreation Area and Camp Robins must evacuate the local area or go to shelters.

Shelters are now open; however people must first register at the Fitness or Youth Centers. Shelters are also available and open in Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, and Walton Counties, and base personnel are encouraged to use them as well.

- AAFES Main Exchange Wednesday, 8 p.m.
- East Gate Shoppette, 10 p.m.
- The Breeze, Thursday, after dinner meal
- Bayview, Closed
- Flight Kitchen, Wednesday, 7 p.m.
- Legends, Wednesday, 8 p.m.
- Child Development Center, Wednesday, 6 p.m.
