Road construction near West Gate Published Feb. 21, 2014 EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Road construction will occur from March 3 through July 31 near the West Gate at the intersection of Eglin Blvd and Hatchee Road and the intersection of Eglin Blvd and May Road. Construction will also occur at the intersection of May and Gaffney Road. Work will occur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic on Eglin Blvd will be one lane in-bound or out-bound between the West Gate and the West Gate shoppette at intermittent times during construction. The safety improvement project will add a new traffic light and controlled intersection at May Road and Eglin Blvd. Once the project is complete, it will eliminate left turns from Eglin Blvd onto Hatchee Road and left turns from Hatchee Road to Eglin Blvd.
