Eglin to close at 2 p.m. Tuesday due to forecasted inclement weather Published Jan. 28, 2014 EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Due to anticipated inclement weather, the installation commander has ordered non-mission critical military and civilian personnel be released at 2 p.m., Jan. 28. Eglin will reopen for normal business at noon, Jan. 29. Civilian employees will be granted administrative leave for duty hours missed between 2 p.m., Jan. 28 and noon, Jan. 29. Civilian employees already in a leave status will remain in that status and will not be coded as administrative leave. All military and civilian personnel should report for duty at noon, Jan. 29 or at the start of their normally scheduled duty period thereafter. The commissary, base exchange and east side gas station will close at 4 p.m., Jan. 28. The west side gas station will remain open. The mini mall will close at 2 p.m., Jan 28 and will not reopen Jan. 29. The east side gas station will reopen at 11 a.m. and the commissary is set to reopen at noon, Jan. 29. The base exchange will remain closed for a scheduled annual inventory Jan. 29. Member's will be able to drop off their children at the Child Development Center beginning at 12:30 p.m., Jan. 29. All personnel should monitor local television and radio broadcasts as well as the Team Eglin website and Facebook page for updated reporting instructions.
