Eglin Hospital experiences power outage Published Aug. 29, 2013 EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Eglin Hospital is currently experiencing a power outage due to construction work that hit a power line and shorted out commercial power Aug. 28. Repairs to restore power were anticipated to be complete by by Sept. 1. For the most current updates, go to Team Eglin's Facebook page where hospital updates will be shared. The affected clinical areas are making contact with scheduled patients to reschedule appointments or coordinate care. Staff members from the affected clinical areas are augmenting the Emergency Department in order to maintain acute and emergency care services. The hospital is also experiencing appointment telephone line difficulties. Pediatrics, Physical Therapy, and Dental clinics are unaffected by the outage and continue to provide services. Eglin Hospital leadership apologizes to the community and patients for the inconveniences caused by this unexpected event. Updates will be provided as the 96th MDG continues to ensure they return to normal operations as soon as possible.
