EXERCISE-HURCON 2 DECLARED-EXERCISE Published Aug. 27, 2013 EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla -- EXERCISE EXERCISE EXERCISE Hurricane Condition Two has been declared at Eglin by the commander as of 5 p.m. Aug. 26, because of the threat of Hurricane Heidi. Hurricane Condition Two means destructive winds of 58 MPH or greater are possible within 24 hours and a hurricane is expected to make landfall at or near Eglin. The 96th Test Wing commander has authorized the group dismissal and administrative leave of non-mission critical personnel. Mission critical personnel will remain on duty status for possible 24-hour emergency operations. Personnel releases at the discretion of unit commanders are authorized administrative leave. People living in Postl' Point Famcamp, Mobile Home Park, Temporary Lodging Facilities, Camp Pinchot, Maxwell-Gunter Recreation Area and Camp Robins must evacuate the local area or go to shelters. All non-essential facilities on base such as the flight kitchen, shopettes and gas stations will be closed by 4:30 p.m. today, Aug. 27.
