EXERCISE - HURCON 3 DECLARED - EXERCISE Published Aug. 26, 2013 EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla -- EXERCISE EXERCISE EXERCISE Hurricane Condition Three has been declared at Eglin by the 96th Test Wing commander as of Aug. 26 at 3:05 p.m., due to the threat of Hurricane Heidi. Hurricane Condition Three means destructive winds of 58 MPH or greater are possible within 48 hours. The commander has authorized the release of non-mission critical personnel. Final evacuation authority rests with respective unit commanders. People in low-lying areas, for example, Postl' Point, Eglin Trailer Park and Fam Camp should prepare to evacuate or seek shelter. People seeking shelter on base can register at this time at the fitness and youth centers. Shelter will open if hurricane condition two is declared. People should make sure they have adequate supplies of water, money, and non-perishable food. No pets allowed in shelters.
