12/19/2011 - A general contractor team, working in conjunction with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and base civil engineers, uses an excavator to demolish a fuel cell maintenance hangar, Dec. 15 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. The hangar was used in the 1960s for B-52s stationed here prior to the 33d Fighter Wing being established. It was used for F-15s until the wing transitioned from Air Combat Command to Air Education and Training Command in October 2009. Replacing it will be an F-35 fuel cell maintenance hangar with three aircraft bays, office space and a tool crib. It is anticipated for completion in Feb. 2013. (U.S. Air Force photo/Maj.
