Eglin hosts LEGACY STEM students
Staff Sgt. Joann Magdamo, 96th Medical Group, manipulates a surgical display camera to show the group of LEGACY STEM students their image on June 16 during a tour at the 96th Medical Group, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. While at the hospital each student had an opportunity to do a mock surgical procedure with gummy bears using the unit’s DaVinci Robotics System and get an up-close look at the surgical tools. The group of 24 students visited the base as part of Wright-Patterson’s LEGACY Craftsman Camp here to introduce and encourage interest in STEM related career fields in the Air Force.
