EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Eglin’s wing commanders read to Eglin Elementary school children April 29 as part of the Month of the Military Child activities.
Daren Everage, assistant principal, said 95% of the school’s children have military parents. He said the goal was to celebrate them and feel special and appreciated.
“The children serve in the military, just like their parents,” he said. “By celebrating them for the unique life they live, we can hopefully help them deal with those things in a positive way and make their education process more enjoyable.”
