At the Herc wash
Brig. Gen. Evan Dertien, 96th Test Wing commander, gives a C-130 Hercules an inaugural power wash during the 96th Operations Group Detachment 1’s Large Aircraft Wash Rack ribbon cutting ceremony Dec. 14 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. Prior to its establishment, C-130 test aircraft were ferried to other installations for monthly washes, impacting test time and funding. The local wash rack frees nearly six-months of test scheduling for the detachment and saves more than $1.14 million in fuel costs each year. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Jasmine Porterfield)
